The Common Wealth Games is a multinational sports event organised once in four years and nations particiapate from the Commonwealth of Nations - or former colonies of the British Empire.CWG is also known as the 'Friendly Games',  The  Commonwealth Federation (CGF),which is based in London is directing the Commonwealth Games-2010.

"Shera",the friendly tiger is the CWG 2010's logo,which is designed by the Idiom Design and Consulting Company.It is the Mascot of 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The Opening Ceremony of the XIX commonwealth games 2010 will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium ,which is for the first time Delhi is hosting.After the Kuala Lumpur Games in 1988,Dehli is the second Asian city to hold such a big event.

On invitation by the England's Queen,,the curtain raiser of the main event,which is the Queen's Baton Relay 2010 Delhi.is graced by Mrs. Pratibha Patil,the President of India. The Baton was received by the ace shooter Abhinav Bindra,who is the first baton bearer.This is the longest relays in the history of Commonwealth Games,which is more than 170,000 kms.The Baton relay will be concluded on 3rd October,2010,after the last baton bearer receives it and enters the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium,Dehli.
