Mahavinayak is the name of a hill crest at a village called Basanibute in Katak district.Small Ganesha had transformed himself into MahaVinayak, to fear Demon king Ravana,who ran away after watching this miracle.Hence this hill crest is named as MahaVinayak.This hill is visible from the Katak city.The rock has a perimeter of about 3.5m and shaped like elephant face.The right side resembles Shivji and the left side looks like the hair pattern of mata Parvati.The middle part is Ganesha.Devotees worship this rock as a symbol of the union of Shiv-Parvati-Ganesha.
