| Manakkula Vinayakar Temple is Located right behind the Raj Nivas in Pondicherry town.This Ganesha temple has an interesting story. A Frenchman staying next to this temple was annoyed with this place of worship and he made several attempts to do away with the deity. Still, it kept reappearing.Finally he was so convinced that he became a staunch beleiver and devotee of Ganesha. Therefore, it is also fondly referred to as Vellakkaran (White man) Pillai (Ganesha). |
