The gods and sages started worshipping Ganesha by performing the 'Yadnya'(worshipping with the fire in the centre).From the fumes of the yadnya a peacock emerged out with Omkar Ganesha.

Omkar Ganesha seating on the peacock attacked and finished the demon.Later,the demon's follower Kamalasur entered the warfield.Ganesha cut his head but it was getting reintated repeatedly.Finally Ganesha cut his head and immediately burried it in the ground and sat on him.

Omkar Ganesha continued sitting on the head of the demon in invisible form.So the five gods,Brahma,Vishnu,Mahesh,Shakti and Surya established a Ganesha shrine here.Later on this statue of Ganesha was eroded and the Pandavas installed a new statue which is still existing at Morgaon.
