Shree Varenyaputra Ganapati-Jalna,India

Ganesha was born to Parvati mata. After some days the child told mata to leave him to King Varenya's town, since Varenya was blessed to have Ganesha as his child.Parvati directed Nandi to carry Ganesha.

At this time Pushpika, the wife of king Varenya delivered a child which was kidnapped by the maid and in the mean time Ganesha was replaced with the child. When pushpika saw the child with four hands and a trunk, she told the king to leave the whimsical child in the jungle.

Later, the child Ganesha was looked after by Parashar Hrishi and his wife Vatsala,in his Ashram and he named him as Ganesha.Ganesha's thread ceremony was done after he completed his eight years.

At that time demon Sindurasur was torturing the people and living became difficult.Child Ganesh blowed the conch and challenged the demon for a war.The demon opened his hands wide to crush the child Ganesha but Ganesha got transformed in to a huge form and finished the demon.

King Varenya and Pushpika heard this news and ran to their son and apologised.King Varenya established a Ganesha shrine at Rajur which is about 26kms from Jalna in Maharashtra.

Being the son of king Varenya,he is called as Varenyaputra Ganapati.
