This single storeyed Siddhivinayak Temple is about 800 years old and exists since the rein of King Hambirraj.This place is a village of 5000 population,which is about 2.5 Kmd from Uran and ,70 kms. away from Mumbai.This place is called "Vinayak",because of this divine shrine.The east facing,Swayambhu and charming  Ganesh Idol  is a   sculpture and is about 3'-6"' tall  and 2'-6" wide and the idols of Siddhi -Buddhi on either sides are 2' tall.

On  the back side of Idol,there is a 'Shilalekh',3'-4" in height,containing 25  lines which shows the figures of Sun,Moon and Kalash and exists since year 1259.The language of this 'Shilalekh' is fusion of Sanskrit and Marathi.There is a Hanuman temple about 35 ft from this temple.The idols of Ganesh and Hanuman are facing each other.The Ganesh Idol faces the east and Hanuman idol west direction respectively.

There exist a well and pond in the viscinity of this temple.The whole premises is surrounded by the greenery of the nature due to which the devotees feel very pleasant here.This divine place was handed over  by  Shreemant Peshwe to Late Shri.Yesu Ganu Gharat in the  year  1753.As per the records ,it is learned that Thorle   Madhavrao Peshwe  had visited this place.

250 years will be complete in the year 2002 since the temple was handed over to Gharat family.The temple is being mentained by the heir Shri. Sadanand Raghunath Gharat,who is a respected resident of Mumbai and a senior officer of excise department.On Magh Chaturthi (February) there is a big festival here,which is attended by thousands of devotees.

Mumbai-Panvel is about 52 kms,Panvel-Uran is about 22 kms and Uran-Vinayak is 2.5 kms.

By road it is 70 kms. and takes 2:00 hrs from Dadar,Mumbai.In ferry boat it is about 4 nauticle miles and takes 40 minuts to reach.

One can travel from Mumbai to Panvel by train and then to Uran by local transport like rikshaw.There are Ashiad and State transport buses for Uran which run from 7am to 8pm.
