      Saibaba Miracles

Shirdi is one of the most sacred pilgrim spots in India. Shirdi is located in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra in Western India. Shirdi extends latitude 19°45 N and longitude 74°25 E.

This divine place has gained a massive popularity across the world for its association with the miraculous saint Shri Saibaba.

At the beginning of eighteenth century a young bearded man with divine eyes took shelter in a mosque,in Shirdi Village (Maharshtra State,India).

He hardly spoke a word and stayed there.Gradually the curious villagers started offering him food, but he never asked anything from them.

He used to even share his food with animals.Soon the young man who was addressed as ' Fakir ',started expressing his views with elderly villagers.

His simple language of expresssion and his special power of solving the problems of needy people, soon made him known as Shri Sai Baba.

As the days passed, devotees started streaming into Shirdi in ever growing numbers. The village was fast becoming a centre of pilgrimage.

As gifts and presentations flowed in, the pomp and ceremony of Sai worship were evolving. Everyday Sai Baba would be a pauper having distributed all among the needy and the poor.

But Sai Baba's life of a Fakir remained calm and undisturbed  like a saint's Spiritual glory. People also realised that this "Baba" was no ordinary person but a person with amazing divine powers.Such powers are not seen in normal human beings.

Baba preached his principle of love and faith in humanity to all his disciples. He experienced that all those who came to him were mostly for their personal problems and not for attaining the ultimate goal of reaching God .

                   Shri. Saibaba Miracles

1) Lighting lamps with water

Saint Saibaba liked to burn lights in his Masjid and other Temples. The oil required for the lamps was donated by the grocers of Shirdi.Everyday Baba used to light earthenware lamps in the masjid and he would call on the grocers for small donations.

But a time when al the grocers got annoyed of giving  free oil to Sai Baba and they bluntly refused to oblige him, saying they had no oil in stock. Baba returned to the masjid without uttering a single word.

Baba poured water in the earthenware lamps and lit the lamps. The lamps were burning till late midnight. The grocers heard about this and rushed to Sai Baba with profuse apologies.Sai Baba pardoned them, but he warned them never to lie again.

"You could have refused to give me the oil, but did you have to say that you didn't have oil in stock?"
The grocers admitted their mistake and kneeled down to Sai Baba in surrender.

2) Burning Farms Extinguished

The harvesting in Shirdi  was completed and the foodgrains of the entire village had been stored in a yard. The heat of the summer was very intense.Saibaba summoned Kondaji Sutar and told him: "your field is on flrel". Frightened, Kondaji ran to his field and scaredly looked around for any fire. There wasn't any.

He returned and informed Baba that he found no trace of fire and why did Baba rightened him? Baba said,"You better look back and watch."  Kondaji noticed that a sheaf of corn on fire and smoke was coming out from it.

The scared villagers came running to the scene and shouted the name of Baba for help. "Sai Baba, help us, help us put the fire out!" Thereupon, Sai Baba walked casually towards the farm sprinkled some water on a stack of sheaves and convinceed the villagers, "The fire will get extinguished now!" And to their surprise the fire stopped immediately. All of them knelt down to Baba.

3) Stopping the rain

Rao Bahadur Moreshwar Pradhan and his wife had come to Shirdi to take Sai Baba's darshan. After the darshan the couple was about to leave, when it began to rain heavily with heavy thunder, lightning and gushing breeze

The  couple looked tensed and helpless when Sai Baba prayed. "Oh Allah!" "let the rain come to halt soon and and take my children home safely and peacefully!" The storm surprisingly ceased, the rain got reduced to slight drizzle and the couple  reached their destination safely and peacefully. They understood the miracle of Baba.

4) Rise in well water level

The villagers of Shirdi wanted to celebrate the birthday of Saibaba which falls on Ram Navami day.But the biggest problem was the non availibility of water. But they were advised by wise people to approach Sai Baba to solve the problem.

Yes," said Sai Baba, 'so you want plenty of water, right? Take these flowers and prasada (blessed food) and drop them in to the well. The villagers had faith in Sai Baba. They performed as instructed by Baba.

No sooner did those flowers were dropped in the well, the water rose from the bottom to top as if there was a divine command and the well was completely filled. The villagers bowed down to Baba and celebrated the festival.

5) A child was saved from drowning

A resident of Shirdi named,Babu Kirwandikar, had a three years old daughter who had fallen into the well. When the villagers rushed to the site they were amzed to see the child suspended in mid-air as if some invisible hand was holding her up!

She was quickly taken out from inside. Sai Baba was fond of that girl who always used to say,"I am Baba's sister!" After this incident, the villagers were convinced that it was all Baba's Leela.

6) Flow of Godavari from Baba's feet

On a festive occasion,a villager Das Ganu sought Baba's permission to go to a place called Singba on the banks of the Godavari to have a sacred bath in the holy waters. "No," Baba replied , "where is the need to go all the way there, when the river Godavari is here right at my feet?"

But his faith was not deep enough to believe that the waters of the Godavari could spring out form the feet of  Shri Saibaba. Baba who was reading Das Ganu's mind decided that this was the time to strengthen Das Ganu's faith. He told him, "come closer to me and hold the hollow of your palms at my feet!".

As soon as he did so water sprang out of the toes of Baba's feet and filled the space of Das Ganu's palms. He was overjoyed by this and sprinkled the water on his head and his body and distributed some more among the assembled devotees as tirtha (holy water).

7) Fire Put Off

The masjid which housed Sai Baba itself would have been gutted by fire by the flames of the dhuni. Baba took some swipes at a wooden pillar in front of him. With every blow the flames subsided and the fire died down.

8) Miraculous Palms

Devotees often would notice Baba stirring some hot concotion over the kitchen fire.Baba did it not with a ladle but with his bare hands. There was never a time when his hands were scalded.

9) Life Saved

Sai Baba was taking food with three of his devotees in the masjid.Baba, without any cause for provocation, exclaimed- "Stop!" Then, as if nothing had happened, the four continued with lunch over and the dishes cleared. They stepped out of the masjid.

Soon, large portion of the ceiling fell on the very spot where they had been seated only a few minutes before. The devotees came to know the Baba's power due to which their life got saved.
