Bhagwan Shri.Satya Sai Baba,(Satya Narayana Raju)was born to Eswaramma and Peddavenkama Raju Ratnakaram,on 23rd November,1926,in India,Andhra Pradesh.In his childhood he was miraculously intelligent and higly talented.He was a composer of poems and plays.As per his mother,he was capable of materialising food and sweets from the air.He is beleived to be the reincarnation of Sai Baba,Shirdi, India,Shiva,Shakti and thus adopted his name.

In 1940 he was staying with his brother in Uravakonda,India.One day in the month of March,he was stungby a scorpion and he was unconscious for a long time.After he came to his consciousness,there was a miraculous change in him.Baba started uttering Sanskrit verses though he never studied or knew the language before.Also he started laughing,crying and singing.  

The worried parents took him to doctors for treatment but on 23rd March 1940,Baba disclosed his divine identity and started creating objects from the air.His father thought he was possesed by an evil force and threatened him with a stick and asked him who he is when Baba calmly exclaimed,'I am Sai Baba' of Shirdi,India.His mission started in the early 1940s.  

In the year 1963, Satya Sai Baba suffered from four severe heart attacks but with his divine powers he cured himself.On 29 June 1968, Satya Sai Baba made his very first foreign trip to Uganda.In 1968, he established Dharmakshetra or Sathyam Mandir in Mumbai.In 1973, he established Shivam Mandir in Hyderabad.  Baba is an excellent orater in his native language Telugu and also in Tamil.Satya Sai teaches the unity of all the religions of the world which lead to the almighty God.Many of his followers claim that Baba appeared in their dream even before they had seen him and as per his directions they finally approached him.Today they are all happy being his followers.  

Baba claims that he has a power to create matter and objects like Vibhuti,Finger rings,vibhuti,Wathches etc.by his devine power.He has many miracles to his credit which have been witnessed by his devotees.Baba teaches to love peoplel,help others,put control on desires and practise meditation.

Various books are published about Baba and he is considered as the "National treasure'.By the year 2005 Baba became very popular and he has by now millions of devotes from all over the world.It is said that by today there are more than 1000 Satya Saibaba centres in 110 countries in the world.

Baba has a huge ashram near the village,Puttaparti which is called Prashanti Nilayam (abode of peace).Baba more time lives in this ashram and in the summer season he stays in his other ashram called Brindavan,which is near Bangalore,India.It is beleived by his disciples that his 'Darshan' has spiritual benefits.Devotees wait for hours to gether to get a proper darshan of Baba.

Baba is also involved in social work.He has established many educational institutions and charitable hospitals,which provide free education and health care to the public.There are many political leaders who are his followers.The Indian ex.President Abdul Kalam and the ex.Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee visit the ashram regularly to get Darshan of Baba.

At about 5pm,the garland had grown noticeably longer.The next day morning on 23rd, at 8.15am after the birthday satsang the garland grew further upto the bottom of the frame.The devotees present were amazed with the Baba's miracle.                                                                    

Baba came out after some time and the family members were stunned to see Mr.Radhakrishna looking at them and smiling.The family stayed at Prashanthi Nilayam for some days and then went back home.Mr V Radhakrishnan was completely recovered from his serious illness and lived many more years healthily.
