This 200  years old temple is on the corner of  Kakasaheb Gadgil Marg and S.K.Bole road, near Ravindra Natya Mandir, near  Dadar Prabhadevi, Mumbai, India. This  was built up with the finance and directions of Late Mrs.Deubai Patil, who was very rich but  had no issue.

The idea of the construction of the temple came to her mind
during the prayer time. She prayed to Lord Ganesh and said,"God, “I don't have a child, but please let all the other childless ladies get the  pleasure of having a child, on praying you.

Later,it was experienced that Shri.Ganesha soon blessed the request of Mrs.Deubai and therefore, this Siddhivinayak is famous for it and known as “Navasacha Ganapati” in Marathi (ie Ganapati who fulfills your wish on praying ) .

The idol of Shree Siddhivinayak was carved on a single black stone and its  size is  2'6” in  height and 24" wide. The trunk is on the right side ,which is  unusual. The upper right and left hands hold a lotus and an axe, while the lower right and left hands hold a rosary  (japmala) and bowl of  'Modaks' Like the sacred thread,a snake is seen on the left shoulder to the right side belly.

On the  forehead there is an eye, which resembles almost the third eye of Lord Shiva. On either side of Ganesha  idol are images of goddesses 'Riddhi' and 'Siddhi'  who are the symbol of success, wealth  and prosperity. Two large silver  statues of two mice are seen inside the temple. It’s believed that these mice, as Ganesha’s ‘Vahan (vehicle)’, will pass on the  devotees’ wishes to him.

Visitors have to approach one of the mice, offering it Prasada and  whisper their wishes into ear of the mouse. Devotees beleive that the wish is passed on to  Shree Ganesha who fullfills it.This shrine has deities of  Lord Ganesha with Riddi and Siddhi , hence it is known by all as " Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple "
