This is Trinetra Ganesh Temple devoted
to Ganesha, the elephant-headed God of Good Fortune.The temple is located in Ranthambhore
fort in Rajasthan.
There are statues of
Riddhi Siddhi, his wife and two sons Shub Labh along with the
idol of Ganesh and also his vehicle mushak (mouse) is also placed there.
Wednesday is the main
day of darshan and puja, but this temple is visited by hundreds of devotees
everyday.In 1299 AD,in the war between King Hammeer and
Alauddin Khilji, godowns of foods and
all the necessary things were stocked in Ranthambhore fort.
Since the war
lasted for several years, the stock in godowns were over. One night when King
Hammer; who,a great devotee of Lord Ganesh, was sleeping when he dreamt that
Lord Ganesh blessed him to solve all his problems.
In the morning an idol of Lord Ganesh with three
eyes*(Trinetra), embossed in one of the fort’s wall. Also the war was
miraculously over and the godowns were full. In 1300 AD King Hammer built this temple of Lord Ganesh.
